Welcome to the UCLA Sim Center
Welcome to the UCLA Simulation Center! As of November 2009, we have moved to our permanent home on the A floor of the Learning Resource Center at 700 Westwood Plaza. Please excuse the construction as we are still expanding. Our renovated facility will provide access to state of the art simulating training to medical, nursing, dental and allied health students as well as residents, staff and faculty. Trainees and practitioners can learn, practice and perfect clinical skills, technical procedures and team communications. Please see course catalog for more information.
The UCLA Simulation Center gratefully acknowledges Maxine and Eugene Rosenfeld, whose generosity has helped UCLA maintain its role as a leader in this technology. UCLA was among the first institutions to integrate the simulation technology, which has now become a standard for medical education and surgical training. Such programs have resulted in improved performance, shorter response time, and less deviation from practice standards than non-simulator training. Healthcare simulators increase trainee confidence, competence, improve patient safety, and can also yield cost and process efficiencies. UCLA's Simulation Training Program has grown steadily to meet a growing list of educational objectives within the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and its affiliated partners and schools thanks in large part to the vision and commitment of Maxine and Gene.
